I’ve been watching games in Germany (and a few in NL, AT and FR) regularly now for 12 years, and it still surprises me every visit as to how different it is compared to the UK….glass bottles of beer sold at normal prices in the vicinity of the stadium (and the respect for organised disposal of them once empty), alcohol in the stadium, standing, mostly friendly stewards, football shirts still worn in city centre bars and restaurants well into the evening. Where did we go wrong over here?
Sounds like a great way to watch a game. Sadly, you’re right that this could never happen in England
Licensing laws, Nimbyism, scallies ruining a good thing. So many reasons it would never work!
